Andre Kaptein
Andre joined Cobalt in September 2006. Since then, he has played an integral role in successfully leading the firm’s Toronto retail and light industrial team to new heights, while improving the quality and delivery of services. With over 20 years of industry experience, Andre brings a strong background in construction and project management to the Cobalt team. He is dedicated to delivering premium services that meet and exceed client expectations. Committed to continuous improvement, Andre delivers tailored, high performance solutions for every project. Andre strives for simplicity in his work, giving his clients the most efficient, cost-effective, progressive solutions possible. As an Associate, Andre’s main focus is to provide superior client services for some of Canada’s leading retailers. He also takes a key role in implementing Cobalt’s business development strategies.
Jason Manikel
Jason has been an important part of Cobalt’s growth since 2003. He currently manages a leading design team in Cobalt’s Toronto office. Committed to design excellence, Jason incorporates efficiency and innovative solutions for every project he encounters. For him, this begins with a true integrated approach and developing strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors. With experience in a wide variety of building types (office, retail, restaurant, residential, educational, institutional, warehouse and light industrial), Jason is also familiar with a large range of new technologies and systems. He has been involved in every stage of the design process – from conception to completion. Jason was the lead mechanical designer for Aquaquest at the Vancouver Aquarium, the first aquarium in the world to target LEED® Gold. He is also currently the project lead for the new CANMET-MTL laboratories at McMaster Innovation Park in Hamilton,ON, a distinguished project targeting LEED Platinum.
