Two New Cobalt Associates

Vancouver, BC, September 23, 2008 – Cobalt Engineering LLP, a fully integrated mechanical and electrical engineering design firm is pleased to announce the promotions of Paul Chu and Lane Logan each to Associate. Paul and Lane are proven leaders in sustainable building design services and their expertise adds further depth to Cobalt’s electrical team.

Paul Chu – Vancouver, BC

Paul gained considerable experience while working in Fresno and Los Angeles as a design engineer prior to moving to Vancouver in 1976. Throughout his career, he has continued to practice the design of innovative electrical solutions for an array of building types, designing a wide variety of commercial, institutional and light industrial buildings.

Paul is well-versed in all areas of electrical design and has displayed his leadership skills and commitment to excellence as a business owner. He brings progressive, electrical design solutions to many large scale and unique projects across the province. He has been the senior electrical engineer for a number of projects, including the Royal Bank computer centre (Vancouver), the BCSC Computer Centre (Victoria) and the Daon, Park Place, Swan Wooster and HA Simons office buildings.

Lane Logan – Prince George, BC

Lane’s extensive background working with a variety of projects in the Interior enables him to better understand the unique requirements of the local climate. Focused on sustainability, Lane brings over 20 years of experience with renewable energy technologies. His expertise in the field of electrical engineering includes power distribution, lighting, control systems, communication systems, alternative energy and security.

As an Associate for the Prince George electrical team, Lane has assumed full responsibility for the design and implementation of a diverse range of projects, including institutional, municipal, industrial, and commercial sectors. His work includes conceptual design, cost estimating, final design, tender drawings along with specifications, construction inspection services, and commissioning.
