Paul Chu, Associate
“Electrical system designs create the unique challenge of achieving balance between bringing life to a building while minimizing the impact on the local infrastructure.”

Paul gained considerable experience while working in Fresno and Los Angeles as a design engineer prior to moving to Vancouver in 1976. Throughout his career, he has continued to practice the design of innovative electrical solutions for an array of building types, designing a wide variety of commercial, institutional and light industrial buildings.
Paul is well-versed in all areas of electrical design and has displayed his leadership skills and commitment to excellence as a business owner. He brings progressive, electrical design solutions to many large scale and unique projects across the province. He has been the senior electrical engineer for a number of projects, including the Royal Bank computer centre (Vancouver), the BCSC Computer Centre (Victoria) and the Daon, Park Place, Swan Wooster and HA Simons office buildings.
Paul’s experience with post-secondary schools includes the Applied Science Building at Simon Fraser University, as well as various buildings with the University College of Fraser Valley’s Abbotsford Campus. He has also worked on the 1067 Seymour Street residential tower, Coquitlam Centre renovations, and various Expo 86 projects.
He believes that giving power to buildings is a serious responsibility that involves striking a balance between user requirements and our global situation. Paul has been an active player in the marketplace shift toward holistic design. Today, Paul carefully considers the optimal balance between project requirements and the need to create ecologically responsible designs.
